Reznik Orthodontics is a family-owned practice with two offices, one in Odessa and one in Midland, run by Dr. Megan Reznik and Dr. Derek Reznik, each a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Consultations are free, treatment fees are given in writing before you commit, and payment plans start at $99 a month with no interest.
Every orthodontist’s website in Odessa and Midland says it offers personalized care and advanced technology. Here are the things that are actually checkable.
Two board-certified orthodontists
Dr. Megan Reznik is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Derek Reznik is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Board certification is voluntary. It requires an orthodontist to pass a written examination, submit finished cases from their own practice to an examining panel, defend those cases in an oral examination, and renew every ten years. Across the competitive evidence gathered for Odessa and Midland, no other practice puts two board-certified orthodontists in front of a searcher. See board certification for what it involves and how to verify anyone's.
Both doctors completed their orthodontic residency at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston and have practiced in the Permian Basin since 2007. Both treat patients at both offices.
Two towns, one practice
Odessa and Midland are twenty minutes apart and are not the same place. Most practices here pick one. Reznik Orthodontics runs a full office in each, staffed by the same two doctors on a rotation, which means a family that moves across the basin, or a household that works in one city and lives in the other, does not have to change orthodontist or start over.
It also means both offices share one record. Treatment started in Midland continues in Odessa without a transfer.
We tell you the price
Most orthodontic websites in this market will not put a payment figure anywhere. This one does, and so does the office.
The consultation is free, and it produces a diagnosis, a treatment plan, a timeline and the actual fee, in writing, at that visit. Same-day starts are available. Monthly payments begin at $99, $0 down is available on many plans, and in-house financing carries no interest. The practice is not in-network with any insurance plan, but accepts most PPO plans, bills your carrier directly and takes assignment of benefits where your plan allows. HSA and FSA funds are accepted, and CareCredit is available.
The full breakdown, including what the fee covers and what it does not, is on the cost and financing page. None of it is behind a phone call.
A four-day week, said out loud
Both offices run Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and close Friday.
That is a real constraint in a basin that runs on hitches, nights and out-of-town crews, and it is worth knowing before you book rather than after. What the practice does about it is concrete: adjustments fall 4 to 8 weeks apart rather than weekly, siblings can be booked back to back so one trip covers both, treatment starts can be timed to a week you are home, and remote check-ins through Dental Monitoring can replace some visits entirely.
Locally owned
The practice carries a family name because a family owns it. Reznik Orthodontics has been part of orthodontic care in West Texas for over 40 years, and decisions about your treatment are made in Odessa and Midland rather than at a corporate office in another state.
That is not a criticism of anyone else. It is a difference worth knowing about, because it determines who you can actually talk to when something needs sorting out.
Every treatment, in both offices
Metal and ceramic braces, AO Empower self-ligating braces, Invisalign clear aligners, early treatment for children, teen treatment, adult orthodontics, complex cases and retreatment, surgical orthodontics coordinated with an oral surgeon, and emergency care for patients in treatment.
Digital scanning replaces putty impressions at both offices, and 3D imaging supports planning where a case calls for it.
The same two doctors, start to finish
At a practice with rotating associates or a corporate roster, the person who quotes your treatment is often not the person who delivers it. Here there are two orthodontists, both of them owners, and one of them will examine you at the consultation and treat you through to the end.
That has a practical consequence beyond continuity. When something does not go to plan in month eight, and in a proportion of cases something does not, the decision about what to do next is made by the person who made the original plan and who will still be there at the debond.
What you get at the first appointment
A diagnosis, not a sales pitch. The examination establishes what is actually wrong, whether it needs treating now or later, what would correct it, how long that would take and what it would cost. All of it comes in writing, at no charge, whether or not you go ahead.
Some patients start the same day. Others take a month. A number are told that nothing needs doing yet, which is a real outcome rather than a polite one, and those patients go onto a monitoring program that carries no fee. What happens at the first visit sets it out in full.
None of the above is unusual for a good orthodontic practice. It is unusual to find it written down where you can check it before you book, which is the point of this page.
