This page covers scheduling, fees, payment and insurance. Anything it does not answer, call the Odessa office at (432) 333-7105 or the Midland office at (432) 682-1222.
Appointments and hours
Fitting appliances usually takes one to two hours. After that you are seen every 4 to 8 weeks for adjustments, which take 20 to 40 minutes.
Our regular office hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Thursdays only in Big Spring 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM).
Patients are seen by appointment only. We run on time and ask the same courtesy, because a late start pushes every patient after it into the afternoon.
If you cannot keep an appointment, tell us as soon as you know, and please cancel only in an emergency. Most appointments are booked 4 to 8 weeks ahead and the schedule is full, so a cancelled visit is difficult to replace at short notice, and a long gap between adjustments slows treatment down.
Fees and payment
To keep fees down while maintaining the standard of care, this financial policy applies.
- Paying in full at the start of treatment earns a fee discount. If you have insurance, the discount applies to your portion of the fee, the part insurance will not cover.
- Payments can be extended over months. Outside financing is available through CareCredit and Capital One.
- We accept electronic debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, and online payment at any hour.
- In cases of serious delinquency treatment is discontinued, though we accommodate temporary difficulties. Call before it becomes a problem.
Insurance
We will help you determine what coverage you have, and we ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us so the carrier pays the practice directly and you pay only the balance. We accept assignment of benefits from most plans, file the paperwork on your behalf, and verify your benefits before treatment starts.
Records and privacy
Your orthodontic records, including X-rays, scans and study models, are kept by the practice and are used to plan and monitor your treatment. If you transfer to another practice, records can be released to them at your request.
Both offices share one patient record, so a patient who moves between Odessa and Midland does not need anything transferred and does not start over. The practice’s full privacy notice is published separately on this site.
Bringing someone with you
Parents are welcome in the examination room throughout a child’s appointment, and for a first visit it is better if you are there, because half the questions are yours.
For routine adjustments, older children and teenagers are often happy to go back on their own, and that is fine. Ask at the front desk if you would like an update afterwards; the team will give you one.
If you are running late
Call. If there is time in the schedule the appointment goes ahead as booked. If there is not, we will either shorten the visit to what can be done properly in the time left or rebook it, because rushing an adjustment produces a worse result and pushes every patient behind you into the evening.
