Before you send it
Two things speed this up: which office suits you, and roughly what you would like to fix, even if it is only “my daughter’s teeth are crowded.” Neither commits you to anything, and both mean whoever calls you back already knows what to book.

What happens next
The office calls you back to agree a time. Both offices are open Monday through Thursday and closed Friday, so a request sent over a weekend is answered on Monday.
The consultation takes about an hour. An orthodontist examines your teeth and bite, takes the records needed to see what is happening under the surface, and explains the problem and what would fix it. Then you get the fee and payment options in writing.
You can start the same day if you want to, and nothing requires you to decide in the room. You do not need a referral, and what treatment costs is published in full.
What the consultation covers
The examination establishes what is actually going on: whether there is an orthodontic problem, what kind, whether it needs treating now or later, what would correct it, roughly how long that would take and what it would cost. Where treatment looks likely, the records needed to plan it are usually taken at the same visit rather than at a second appointment.
Children are welcome from around age 7, which is when the American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first check. Most children examined at that age need nothing yet, and they go onto a monitoring program that carries no fee.
Adults are treated at both offices too, and the consultation is the same. If you had braces years ago and things have shifted since, say so when you book.
Requests are answered in the order they arrive, and the office will offer you the earliest times that fit what you have told us. If you need a specific window, say so in the form; late afternoons fill first and are worth asking for early.
